The great news is that we have raise or pledged over £53,000 and have received fantastic charity funding from WREN for our Renewal Project that takes our total up to nearly £100,000. This allows us to start planning the first two phases of the work to be done this year:
Phase 1: Improving the accessibility of the building by levelling the floor. This involves removing the pews, lowering the chancel floor and installing a slightly raised oak floor. The front porch will also be changed to provide a glass front door and new lighting.
Phase 2: The heating system will be replaced with a modern system and new sea ng provided throughout. The aim is to keep some of the Victorian look of the church through sensitive reuse of the woodwork in the chancel. The reredos will be lowered so we can see the East Window better and movable leaders desks made out of the rood screen.
Phases 3 & 4: We are also applying for finance to enable the renewal of the lighting, electrics and audio-visual systems. Also to repoint the walls and treat surfaces.
So please do con nue to pray for the renewal project as much needs to be done to confirm the charity grant and cost and plan all the work. Thank you so much for all you have contributed. Let us also commit ourselves to renewing our lives with Jesus in all we do.
